Littlefair's Featured Range - Our Pastel Colours!
Are you struggling with what colour to dye your new dining table? Or are you tired of looking at the same colour for several years and want to mix it up a little?
Well.. have you tried any of our pastel colours? This collection consists of the following: Sensual Soft White, Fresh Cream, Beach Hut Blue, Beach Hut Green, Misty Violet, Pale Terracotta, Blushing Beech and Light Sycamore. These are perfect if you want a nice pastel finish to your furniture!
Our pastel colours provide more of an ‘opaque’ finish on wood in comparison to our traditional wood colours, so if you require a more ‘lighter, washed’ finish then it is recommended to dilute the dye with cold water (up to 50%). They can also be mixed with any of our other wood dyes to provide a unique finish to your project! See a couple of images below of where our customers have mixed their dyes. This photo features a mixture of our Beach Hut Blue and Dovetail Grey (from our Grey Range).
The next photo shows three of our pastel dyes mixed together: Misty Violet, Beach Hut Blue and Beach Hut Green.
How nice does this look?! even when mixed together they produce such a lovely and unique effect.
Why choose Littlefair’s?
Well.. for a start our pastel colours are environmentally friendly, non-toxic (food, toy and pet safe - when dry), quick drying, have an easy brush clean and are lightfast! They are also water based, which means that they contain a very low odour.
They are lovingly bottled by hand in the North West of England using the unique colour formulae created by Mr. Littlefair himself. Our wood dye has been specially formulated to both penetrate and coat new and old bare wood to create a lovely soft pastel appearance!
If you want to try out the shades first then you'll find that each of the wood dyes have a 15ml tester pot available to purchase, these will help you decide on which colour to choose.
Here are a few photos shared below from customers who have used our pastel colours!

Lauren @ Littlefair’s
Have you ever finished a guitar body with these stains?
I’m about to try this using a Littlefair’s ironstone grey onto a telecaster body in the following manner:
1. Thick coat of dye then sand back when dry to pop the wood grain.
2. 50% dilute coats to tone the finish to personal taste,
3. Sanding sealer and light sand to level any raised grain
4. Wipe on poly several coats
I would be grateful for any advice you may have on improving this plan.
