It was 2001 when Les Littlefair began developing his small range of water based wood dyes. Starting with just a core of what are now old favourites - Antique Stripped Pine, English Oak, Golden Oak and Dark Red Mahogany - Les wanted an environmentally friendly formula that could enhance any untreated wood, new or old. After months of perfecting his method, Littlefair's Wood Finishing Products was born!
Fast forward 19 years and this small range of dyes has grown to 27 beautiful colours across the Traditional, Pastel, Grey and Special Ranges. These are available to the public online and via a number of trusted stockists. The dyes are, of course, now complimented by our wax polishes, varnishes and finishing oils.
As if we weren't already proud enough of our products, we were absolutely delighted to be nominated for - and WIN! - the prestigious 'Best Eco-Friendly Wood Finishing Brand 2020' award, chosen by SME News. SME News is a quarterly digital publication aimed at those who own, run or assist in the running of small and medium-sized businesses within the UK and it's a huge honour to be recognised by them in such a way.

With many areas of the country - including Lancashire, where we are based - now facing the toughest tier three Covid-19 restrictions, we just wanted to assure our customers that we continue to trade as normal and can still offer the same great service.
